Fleet Fresh Food FairEnergized by its active summer outdoor season, plus back by popular request, the Slavic Village ‘Open Air' Market hosts an additional, 'extended harvest' Farmers’ Market Day for the holiday season, this Saturday afternoon, December 19th, from 2 to 5 p.m. It's a special holiday cheer event, combining non-profit community organizations, local food & craft vendors, & the merchant shops & stores of Slavic Village.Hosted at De Nobile's Restaurant & Lounge, 6400 Fleet Avenue, the Fall 'Fleet Fresh Food Fair' features local arts, crafts, farm, & food producers, along with the nearby merchant shops of Fleet Avenue & East 65th Street. Held "In the Heart of Slavic Village", this seasonal ‘Saturday Stroll’ can include visits to, among others, the nearby Seven Roses Restaurant & Deli, Slavic Village Bi-Rite Supermarket, and the Red Chimney Restaurant along with the Farmers’ Market vendors. Market Committee members and local residents have commented that it's great that holiday hope and cheer comes from this event, as commercial corridor colleagues combine with village vendors on an increasingly popular food and fun event. A festive & growing holiday tradition to the area, the fresh local farmers' market and holiday crafts fair items exhibited at De Nobile’s will complement several fine stores' fancy food options. It’s offered to the public as a special holiday season buying treat, on Fleet and East 65th, in Slavic Village between I-77 and Broadway Ave. Participating vendors, invited & expected, all with existing or emerging ties to Slavic Village, set up at De Nobile's/6400 Fleet, include: Karin's Apiary, Shipula Farms, Real Man's Cheesecake, Blue Pike Farm, Cleveland Botanical Gardens (CBG) Green Corps', Cyndi’s Happy Hens, Broadway Public Art (BPA), Executive Sweets, Farai Malianga-Artist, Fleet Branch-Cleveland Public Library, Mackenzie Creamery, Oasis Acres, Patterson Farms, Pizza Pan Fleet Avenue, Rose Ridge Farm, SAND Farm Ohio, Shipley Desserts & Crafts, Weaver's Truck Patch, Woolf Farms, Party Lite Candles, ‘Stick It’ Shipping/Printing/Graphic Designs Store, Slavic Village Knit Crochet Club, Ward 12 Council Office, and other neighborhood home crafts entrepreneurs. By example, come and enjoy the varied 'cornucopia of choices' of expected products -- local artwork including available customized Slavic Village Holiday Cards, African motif pen drawings/oil paintings/woodcarvings, a 'chefs/cooking/culinary' books display, 'knit & stitch' items, gourmet dark & milk chocolate candy purchases, apples & cider, fresh ‘grass fed’ organic meats, home grown produce & salsa, honeys/jams/relishes, hydroponic lettuce & herbs, artisan cheeses, chocolate & pumpkin dessert rolls, shampoos & toiletries, holiday season assortment votive sampler/tin barrel/mason jar fragrance candles, and ethnic local meal choices.
